You can create playlists from the Media Library to play in General Rotation or schedule them for specific times using the Schedule Calendar.
π Types of Playlists
π General Rotation
General Rotation playlists automatically play when there are no scheduled events. You can:
-
Set a Playback Weight to control how often tracks from this playlist are selected.
-
Define specific hours during which the playlist is active.
This gives you flexible control over your station’s default programming.
π’ Jingles & Advertising
The Schedule Calendar lets you set time blocks for all playlist types.
Jingle playlists are ideal for:
-
Station announcements
-
Program promos
-
Advertisements
They can be configured to:
-
Play after a set number of songs
-
Play every few minutes
-
Play at specific times of the day
They can interrupt ongoing content or play between segments, depending on how you configure them.
πΆ Populating Playlists
You can fill playlists using:
-
Individual tracks
-
Entire albums
-
Artists
-
Folders
This flexibility allows you to easily build playlists for shows, moods, or time blocks.
π― Organize with folders: Label folders (e.g., 80’s, 90’s, Morning Show, Evening Show) and fill them with relevant content. When you add a folder to a playlist, any changes you make inside the folder (like adding or removing tracks) are automatically reflected in the playlist — no need to re-edit the playlist.
π Repeat Protection
Repeat Protection helps you avoid repeating the same content too often. By default:
-
A track, album, or artist won’t repeat within 10 minutes
-
This applies to General Rotation, Jingle Playlists, and Scheduled Events
β οΈ Be mindful:
Repeat Protection is a common reason why scheduled content doesn’t play — especially if multiple playlists contain similar tracks or artists.
Understanding and adjusting these settings is key to ensuring your playlists and schedules work as expected.
