ViaRad.io’s GeoIP Country Locking feature allows you to control which countries can access your stream, giving you advanced control over your station’s audience.

You can configure access using two modes:

✅ Default Allow

  • All countries can access your stream by default

  • You can block specific countries by listing them

🚫 Default Deny

  • All countries are blocked by default

  • Only the countries you specify will be allowed to connect

Be careful with this section. Only use it if you know what you're doing, as you could leave a large portion of your listeners without listening to your radio.

📝 Whitelisting IPs and Subnets

In addition to country-level control, you can whitelist individual IP addresses or entire subnets.
Whitelisted IPs bypass all Country Locking rules, ensuring specific users or systems can always connect — regardless of their country.

GeoIP control is ideal for:

  • Compliance with regional licensing

  • Security against unauthorized regions

  • Audience targeting for regional programming
